Reviews 2002... Assembly Halls - Worthing - West Sussex Jim: 7 September - Went to the Worthing Assembly Halls gig last night - hadn't heard of you before but I booked on the off chance and very glad I did. Like everybody that read the Assembly Halls' publicity I expected to hear you play Genesis newer stuff, which I don't particularly like but I went anyway in the hope that you would throw in some of the better (older) stuff. As it turns out of course you played all my favourites! A great night and I'll be there next time you play Worthing or somewhere close. All the best, Jim Cliffs Pavilion - Southend on Sea - Essex Michael Humphrey: 30 July - Thanks for a very memorable evening at Southend. The playing and vocals were superb. I have seen lots of tribute bands going through the motions with large segments on pre-recorded tapes (no names mentioned) and you feel cheated. You do Genesis proud with craftmanship and enthusiasm and you deserved a packed house to witness what a great band you are. Keep the music live! Thanks once again. Michael Frank Thompson: 30 July - There's always one!" said Terry... well, it wouldn't be an "authentic" Genesis gig without SOMEONE calling for "Supper's Ready", would it? (OK, I admit it was me but I didn't want you guys to get the impression that EVERYONE in the audience was only interested in post-Gabriel stuff!) Chris was awesome last night: one of the BEST renditions of "Firth of Fifth" I have heard by ANYONE; brought "Deep in the Motherlode" alive; and "Blood on the Rooftops" played with so much feeling it HURT! At the Riga in January he got a bit lost in the mix , but last night we got a real treat. By contrast, Neale's keyboards didn't seem to be as clear (did I see Chris asking for the keyboards to be turned up at one point?) I'm glad I'm not the one trying to get the balance right: I suppose you can't please everyone all the time! Nice to hear "Watcher" again, but tell Neale he needs to let those intro chords linger a bit more it sounded a bit rushed... were you getting short of time? We've decided to have a whip-round to see if we can get Jeff a few more drums: if you're going to be Chester Thompson, you have to look the part, don't you!? And Terry IS Phil Collins which includes his inability to tell a good story like Peter Gabriel! Our whip-round might even stretch to a new whistle! ("All change!") And as for you, David, well, you really know your stuff, don't you. Those intricate bass patterns have always been one of my favourite aspects of Genesis' music and you reproduced them wonderfully. The set was just about perfect. I don't envy you having to pick songs to play with so many great tracks to choose from. I've heard you play "Ripples" and "Fountain of Salmacis" and was surprised you left them out this time, because they were two of the strongest pieces you did last time I saw you. But then what would you leave out?! I'd love to hear Chris playing "Horizons", any chance of that for the Riga in October? It's just a shame that the atmosphere in the Cliffs Pavilion always seems to be a bit too "reserved." I was hoping for a few more to be singing along but I guess that will have to wait for the Riga: don't worry, we'll be in good voice for that one! Frank. Leigh: 31 July - Hi I went to the Southend show on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the CDs ran out at the merchandise stall. How do I order one ? Thanks. Leigh Norton Kevin Clarke: 3 August - Hi! I've finally got round to sending you this email, after seeing your show at the Cliffs Pavillion last Monday. I have to say congrats on a marvellous performance. Once again, congrats to the band members and all the crew for a fantastic show! All the best. Kevin Clarke Stephen Betts: 14 August - Hi I just wanted to say a big thank you for one of the best nights in a long time. Being a genesis fan for over 30 years i wasnt sure what to expect when i saw G2 playing at Southend. Was i glad i went, it was simply a fantastic show that took me right back to Earls Court 1977. Unfortunatly for me i live in Ireland and was only over on holiday so i wont be able to see any more of your shows until i come over again next year. Many thanks again for keeping Genesis Alive. Stephen Betts Club Riga - Southend - Essex Frank Thompson: 4 February - I saw your show at the Riga bar the other week and was very impressed - great choice of songs, excellently performed. Just one observation: Do you think "Watcher of the Skies" would make a better opening song than "Firth of Fifth"? Frank Frank Thompson: 9 October - "AWESOME. AWESOME." That's what the bloke next to me kept on shouting (that and "VOLCANO!") and I have to say I agree with him! It's difficult to know who were enjoying themselves more: the band or the audience - for so few of us, I thought we created a cracking atmosphere (after five days, my voice still hasn't fully recovered!) Hey, it even looked like keyboard player Neale was enjoying himself! This was the third time I've seen the band play and like others before me have commented, you seem to get better and better each time. How you can all appear to be so relaxed and having so much fun playing that stuff is beyond me! Even your ad-libs sounded authentic! I have only admiration for what you do and how well you do it. Frank Thompson. Leas Cliff Hall - Folkestone - Kent Bob: 29 September - JUST TO SAY WHAT A GREAT NIGHT OUT ,CONGRATES TO ALL BAND MEMBERS.WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE. From 1 old genesis follower Regards BOB DAVIDSON Tom: 1 October - Hello G2, I was at your Folkestone show on the 27th September and I'd just like to say thanks to all the band members for a thoroughly enjoyable evening of superbly played music. I have seen other 'tribute' acts and whilst most play the music with an acceptable degree of accuracy, they usually miss out on the feel and overall sound of the music. G2 have got it just right and I have to say I was more than a little surprised and impressed by what you do. The high point? 'Firth of Fifth', which has one of the most moving guitar solos ever. I was delighted to hear your guitarist (sorry, don't know the name) play it so well. In fact, you all played with an admirable precision and feel throughout the show. You played all my and probably everyone else's, favourites too (Firth, Cinema Show and Supper's Ready). Good work! Keep up the great work, regards, Tom Alford Andrew Newsome: 12 October - Saw you play at Leas Cliff hall on the 27 Sept and just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the show . I've seen Genesis live on a number of occasions since the late 70's and always thought there older stuff was the best. When are you back in this area? Thanks a lot, Andrew. Moses Gate - Bolton - Manchester Stephen: 20 January - A belated note of thanks to G2 for their gig at Moses Gate on Friday. Not only did they have to contend with lots of sound/electrical problems but also with a VERY noisy crowd. It's not fun standing halfway down a packed room trying to listen to "More fool me" when people are talking behind (and in front) of you. I eventually lost my temper and stormed down to the front to sit on the floor after I couldn't hear the guitar introduction to "Blood on the Rooftops." Why do people who pay money to see bands talk? It beggars belief. I go to lot of classical music concerts and talking is simply not allowed, I wish more rock fans would follow this example. Anyway thanks to the guys for a great night out and I hope the gig at Crewe went without any hiccups. Best, Stephen Andy: 23 January - Just a note to say a big thanks guys - u were wonderful - come back to Moses Gate soon. Cheers, Andy Nigel Coomber: 25 January - Hi David, just a quick email to say thanks for last Fri night in Farnworth. I'm really glad that we made the effort - I have been wanting to see you guys for sometime - great set and really liked your attitude with dealing with the technical problems - glad you just got on with it - it sounded great after the first couple of songs - and a great set - my favourite period of Genesis - its great to be able to see such great music played well in a live setting... Look forward to seeing ya again next time I'm across the pond. See ya, Nigel North Wales Theatre - Llandudno - Wales Tony: 11 October - Have to say I really enjoyed the show in Llandudno recently and I hope the reception you got will mean a return gig soon. There was a great atmosphere throughout the gig and the playing exceeded all my expectations. It was great to hear Moog bass pedals in all their glory and have to say that as a fellow bass player David's playing was as close to Mike Rutherford as I have ever heard. As a Genesis fan since 1974 it was my one regret that I never saw them live in the seventies and after seeing you play I know what a brilliant experience I missed. I know it's a long shot but there are one or two great tracks on Voyage of the Acolyte which I would love to hear Chris play and Broadway Melody off the Lamb is a wonderfully powerful piece although perhaps a bit awkward taken out of context. Fantastic concert - hope you Llandudno again soon. Princes Theatre - Station Road - Clacton-On-Sea Lee: 5 December - Hi there, I just had to send an e-mail saying what a show you put on in Clacton last month. Out of all the shows I've seen done there, yours was by far the best. The drummer, wow, he was bloody brilliant. I just wish I had brought one of the t-shirts or cds that you were selling. I guess this is the closest I will come to seeing genesis play live. Has Phil, Tony or mike seen you perform, if so, what did they think? Top marks again for one hell of a show and hope I get to see you live again. May be you could do some songs like home by the sea, invisible touch? The stand innovation you got at the end was well deserved. Best Wishes. Big genesis fan, Lee Kiddie The Limelight Club - Crew - Cheshire Dave Walker: 20 January - Hi Guys, I'm not usually taken to sending e-mails at 1am but I have just arrived home after watching you at the Limelight, Crewe. I saw you during that unforgettable G2 convention in Guildford and thought you were very good but also thought you didn't get much chance to exhibit your ware. I have to say that tonight you were outstanding. I have watched all the top Genesis tributes many times - Regenesis - Supper's Ready - In the Cage - Invisible touch and tonight's performance for me equalled if not bettered the aforementioned. Genesis tributes, like Supper's Ready, tend to be technically sterile but you have both technical expertise and stage presence, especially Bob Hoskins at the front. Don't sat that nobody has ever likened Terry to old Bob. Thank you for tonight. I went expecting good and came away with a huge smile on my face. You've just created another fan. See you next time for sure. Dave Alan Beardmore: 20 January - Hi, Just a line to say thanks for the Limelight gig last night. I enjoyed it very much. How about playing Mad Man Moon? Love to hear that live. See you in April. All the best, Alan Crispin: 23 January - Hi guys, loved your Limelight show and look forward to hearing you again in April. Very pleasantly surprised to hear Blood On The Rooftops, which is a Genesis top ten favourite of mine. So impressed with the intricacy and accuracy of your renditions and thought balance of instruments was excellent too. Perhaps keyboards was a little too low on IT and would have been visual bliss if you could have found a few back of the stage mauve lights for Afterglow! But these are my own personal points of 'finesse', which I mention in passing. All in all an incredibly accurate, skilful and uplifting performance (by each and every one of you) of so many classic tracks which I enjoyed immensely. Many thanks, Crispin Lee: 8 April - Chris, lucky enough to go to Crewe and 'wow' - blood on the rooftops especially!! Well done to you all, but you and your drummer friend made the set!! You really do sound like the 'Seconds Out' album. Keep up the good work. All the best Lee Jill Walker: 8 April - Hi guys. Just to say thanks for a brilliant show on Sunday night. I was there the whole weekend and your show was definitely the highlight. The set list couldn't have been better and the music was just stunning. So faithfully reproduced it was hard to think we weren't listening to the original. Thanks again. When can we see you again "UP NORTH"? Please come back this way soon, we need to have these amazing songs played by such talent as yourselves. Love Jill Stephen: 9 April - Dear G2, after catching your earlier gig at the 'Limelight' in Crewe, I immediately booked my ticket for the Genesis weekend (5/6/7 April 2002). Just a short note to tell you I thought you were absolutely superb. My friend and I both felt you were head and shoulders above the other bands that appeared and the other bands were pretty good. Everything about G2 feels right especially the quality of you the performers, it would be unfair to single anyone out we admire the whole package so thank-you and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon. (We hope!!) Sorry if I have'nt put it into words very well I am not in the habit of writing to bands but on this occasion I just wanted to thank you all for a bloody good night. Best regards, Stephen Taylor The Manor - Biggin Hill - Kent Brian Doran: 20 February - Hello David, I spoke to you briefly before your Biggin Hill gig on Sunday. I saw you at High Wycombe and was blown away by the Brilliance of the whole bands playing! I had an older brother that loved Genesis and I went to see them 10 times in the late 70's & early 80's. Listening to you is like re-living my childhood. I have not listened to some of the songs for 20 years but it is amazing how one can remember every word & note! I hope to see you again in Catford and get my brother to come. Keep up the good work, Brian The Robin1 - Merry Hill - West Midlands Rachel: 28 February - Take my advice, DEFINITELY go and see G2, I guarantee a great show, I went to see them at the Robin Hood in Brierly Hill, UK and it was incredible. GO AND SEE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rachel Dave Payne: 5 June - EXCELLENT SHOW ONCE AGAIN AT THE ROBIN. The Robin2 - Bilston - West Midlands Stephen Westland: 6 December - I went to the gig and it was way beyond my expectations. I shall definitley be seeing you again if I get the chance. The play list is great - of course - but what really surprised me was both the technical excellence and the authenticity of the sound. I actually preferred it to some of the times I saw the real Genesis in the 80s (mainly because you played a better selection of tracks!). Thanks - and keep going, Steve Spa Pavilion Theatre - Felixstowe - Suffolk Chris Lamb: 1 November - Just thought I would drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed the show last Friday. Choice of material was excellent, especially the "Wind and Wuthering" selection,is there any chance of you putting this on to disc?. Once again thanks for an excellent evening and also the CD was excellent as well. Steve Bothwell: 1 November - Good Evening, Sorry I haven't sent an e-mail earlier, but I would to thank you all for a really good show at sunny Felixstowe last Friday it was a real pleasure to here those great songs again. hope to see you all next year regards, Steve Bothwell Heather Cursons: 3 November - FELIXSTOWE SPA PAVILION show was fantastic! You are keeping the magic of Genesis alive-Keep me informed where I can see you again soon! Love Heather The Standard Music Venue - Walthamstow - London Paul Williams: 17 June - Once again Dave its congratulations on a fantastic gig last Saturday at The Standard. SInce the demise of the Kings Head Fulham as one of your regular venues its been a bit awkward getting to see you guys (must be getting on for a year now!) but the effort in getting up to Walthamstow (and back!) was more than rewarded with a superb night's musical nostagia. The new additions to the repetoire.."Many" and "Motherlode" worked fantastically - I especially enjoyed "Many" as its definitely my fave Genesis single. "Watcher" seemed to require a bit more oooommph from the keyboard but was still an excellent addition to the bands playlist. Most amused to find that Terry is still singing about Mild mannered Supermen being held in "Craptonite" - is this deliberate or do we just put it down to a TD idiosyncrasy? By the way Chris is quite superb on Crawlers - It must be quite easy to get carried away on that track and do a "Darryl" but he really captures Mr Hackett for me on that one. Good luck with all the forthcoming gigs - dont forget us fans down in The Smoke though!! Best Regards to you and the rest of the band, Paul Dave: 17 June - Hi all at G2. Just wanted to say i saw you for the first time at the Standard last saturday and i thought you were incredibly good at what you do. I'm not easily impressed but i closed my eyes and i could not tell the difference between you and the real thing.Your musicianship is just phenomenal and you make it look easy. Visually it was great too, with some fortunate resemblences in places and great effects. Really looking forward to seeing you guys again in the near future; you are the best! Dave Carter The Swan Theatre - High Wycombe - Buckinghamshire Stephen: 2 February - Hello all, it's midnight and I have just got home after a very good evening out in High Wycombe watching G2. I have to say the performance was superb, the usual Seconds Out set but with various other tunes bunged in. for example, More Fool Me, For Absent Friends, Ripples, Entangled and others, fan bloody tastic, thanks guys. An interesting fact, Genesis played the same venue on 28th January 1972, almost 30 years to the day. C & E: 2 February - Great show at Wycombe - would love to see you again - please let us know of your dates - another show at Wycombe would be good, or at the Elgiva Chesham. Many thanks and keep up the brilliant work! Christian & Elizabeth Scharsach Alan Grimble: 3 February - Hi all, I saw G2 for the 1st time on Friday 1st Feb 02 at The High Wycombe Town Hall and that has to be the best ten quid I have spent in my life! I am not sure what I expected after following Genesis since '73 and seeing them in their prime on tours from Selling England thro to Duke but G2 brought out the best part of Genesis - their music! Thanks for reminding me how much I enjoyed it and miss it. Wonderfully done and brilliantly performed, guys. Can't pick out any one highlight - it was all great. I shall definitely be back in the audience next time you play this way and will pass the word amongst all those grey haired friends of mine who can again appreciate great music, played well. Thank you, Alan David Chesterman: 3 February - Just to say what a great show you performed on Friday - very authentic sound, very nostalgic as well. Thanks. Richard: 3 February - Hi G2, my wife Yvonne and I enjoyed your music on Friday night. This is only the second time I have seen you play and the first time for Yvonne (she is not really a Genesis fan but I am working on that). What I can say is, it won't be the last time. Thanks for a great evening. Hope to see you 29th May at Gravesend. Regards Richard J & M: 3 February - Well done guys an excellent gig on Friday. As someone who saw the real thing at the same venue some 25 years ago I was well impressed. The attention to detail on all of the arrangements plus the authentic sound was fantastic - it took me and my friends back to an amazing time when we actually waited with anticipation for the next Genesis album - never being quite sure what we would get. While the whole band sounded great as a keyboard player I was particularly interested in the gear used on Friday to replicate the classic Tony Banks sound, B3's, mellotrons, RMI pianos etc and would like to know more. Perhaps you can oblige? Keep up the good work and thanks again for a great gig! John & Michele Pethers Adrian Goode: 3 February - Looking forward to finding out when there will be another gig in or around High Wycombe! Great gig on Friday 1st Feb!! Regards, Adrian Richard Painter: 4 February - Hello G2, having just spent an excellent evening at High Wycombe town hall I wondered if you could send me a list of your forth coming events. All the best, Richard Jonathan Bordell: 4 February - Dear Dave, thanks for Friday nights gig it was tremendous and you guys are getting better and better. The house certainly seemed to enjoy the show, shame it couldn't go on longer!!!!!!! All the best to you and the guys and look forward to seeing you soon. Jonathan Simon Sweeney: 4 February - Dear All, just wanted to drop you a line to say what a fantastic night out me and my friends had at the Wycombe Town Hall gig on Friday night. Thank you for an amazing evening full of nostalgia, which was so professionally delivered. We hope to catch you later on the tour at one of the London gigs - maybe Catford, or at the Standard in E17. Probably bring a few more of the "faithful". The whole gig was truly amazing, but my favourite highlights were the sections from Blood on the Rooftops through to Afterglow in the first half of the show, then Suppers Ready (but of course) and Cinema show. Keep up the good work and would definitely like to see you back at Wycombe in the future. Best Regards, Simon Grant Foster: 4 February - Hi Guys, this is a big thank you for your superb show which I saw with a friend last Friday - you managed to recreate the sounds of Genesis fantastically. I have been a fan of Genesis for many years, but it brought it home to me how intricate and complex the chords - how difficult the timing. I myself am a keyboard player and was so impressed by your attention to detail on all the sounds. Well done and thanks - I would certainly like to see more of your concerts. It was great to hear particularly Blood on the Rooftops/ unquiet slumbers etc - stuff I hadn't heard for a while - your general choice of songs was excellent - I bet you would do a great version of the Cage and a particular favourite of mine is Fly on a Windshield. Thanks once again and I hope to see you again in the near future, Grant Nigel Murphy: 10 February - Guys, just a quick note to say thanks and extremely well done. My wife and I came to your show at High Wycombe on 1st Feb and had a tremendous evening. This was the first time we'd seen you, but certainly won't be the last. Your performance was spot on and the set contained all our favourites. Actually starting on time was very refreshing too! Shame a few more bands don't do likewise! Sitting comfortably, 3 metres from such a fantastic performance contrasts slightly with the last time I saw the other Genesis - somewhere over the horizon at the NEC, having waited for ages, paid thirty quid for the privilege and another fiver for parking, etc, etc. I think I'm getting old! Once again, congrats on a great gig. For what it's worth: Squonk and Cinema Show really grabbed me. The Cage would be a welcome future addition, perhaps the medley version from Three Sides Live. Hope to see you again soon. Cheers, Nigel Martin Gadd: 11 February - Guys, a well deserved thanks for the High Wycombe gig. A different location certainly and may be a bit more civilised/comfortable than Riga. The bigger benefit was that you played more and there was no support band (with respect to them and those who like that stuff!). Once again thanks for keeping this superb music well and truly alive. Regards, Martin Michael: 11 February - Many thanks. Saw the band in High Wycombe recently and was seriously impressed. I have seen Genesis on many occasions over the years and could have closed my eyes and forgotten who I was listening to. Keep it up! Nigel: 16 February - Hi David, just let you know how much Jean and I enjoyed your gig last Friday at the Swan. Please extend our good wishes to the rest of the band. Many songs just moved me to tears so I know I was enjoying myself! It's great to think their are guys like yourselves prepared to put so much effort into playing the music that I love. Fancy coming Newbury, Berkshire? They have a nice venue at the Corn Exchange and I know you would be made most welcome! Keep up the good work! All the best, Nigel Tim: 28 February - Hi, thank you for an excellent concert at High Wycombe - it was very enjoyable, especially enjoyed the set from Wind & Wuthuring and Supper's Ready. Tim Hanton Martin Bailey: 22 March - I was blown away by the Wycombe concert - look forward to seeing you again wherever you are! Martin Bailey: 16 November - Didn't get to speak with you last night but just wanted to say thanks for a great show; really enjoyed hearing you again. Any chance of adding One For The Vine to the repertoire? Steve Coates Nigel Murphy: 17 November - Another cracking good show on Friday evening at High Wycombe. Well done to you and all. My wife and I had a great time and look forward to seeing you again soon. Keep it coming. Cheers, Nigel Murphy Stewart Butt: 17 November - JUST A SHORT NOTE TO SAY HOW MUCH I ENJOYED THE GIG AT THE WYCOMBE THEATRE, FRIDAY NIGHT. IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR SOME OLD GENESIS STUFF WITH DIFFERENT TIME SIGNATURES AND PATTERNS, AS I PLAY DRUMS IN A BLONDIE TRIBUTE BAND AND IT TENDS TO BE A BIT REPETITIVE. I HOPE TO GET TICKETS FOR CROYDON. ALL THE BEST STEWART BUTT Brian Doran: 19 November - I saw you and the boys again on Friday (4th time this year). I thought it was probably the best so far! Keep up the excellent work. All the Best, Brian Rick Spratt: 21 November - High Wycombe was fantastic. Thanks. Keep up the good work. Rick. Alan: 10 December - Guys, Yet again a really great gig at Wycombe Town Hall on the 15th Nov 2002. I even managed to bring my wife along this time as I always promised her back in the 70s that I would take her to see Genesis but never got the chance. Both She & I thought it was a wonderful show so many thanks to you all for the performance. Sad to here that your keyboard player is off - I hope that is not too catastrophic and that we get to see G2 back in Wycombe soon once you get all get sorted. Thanks again for the Music Alan (& Jill) G Woodville Halls Theatre - Gravesend - Kent Mark: 31 May - Saw the show at Gravesend, excellent!!! Genesis are a very difficult band to emulate as the only mediocre musician is Mike Rutherford. I was most impressed with the drummer, Jeff. The guy sitting next to me seemed to be a tribute band junky and he was saying how good the show was. Good luck, Mark Thomas Chris: 31 May - Hi David. Thanks for a really great evening. I honestly at times forgot that I was sitting in the Woodville Halls Gravesend and felt that I was sitting In Wembley. I have been to quite a few concerts there and the depth of sound that you generated would put many of the current groups to shame. I have always been partial to Spanish Guitar type influences so probably my favourite piece was Blood on the Rooftops ( Such a sad name for such a lovely piece of music ) Beautifully executed by Chris and sung by Terry. You are all such good musicians that it was a joy to see you in action. Please give my regards to the rest of the band and thank you again for entertaining us and re-introducing me to G2enesis. All my best regards. Chris Steer Wyvern Theatre - Swindon - Wiltshire Graham: 16 September - Hiya David. Just a quick note to say thanks for a great night on Friday a wonderful performance, Dance leading into Los Endos is such a powerful ending it stays in my head for the entire journey home! I thought that the venue and sound spot on and follow you follow me worked well this week too. You can let the two Daves know that the lighting was excellent as well. I hope that Manchester was just as good. Keep up the great work, The latest CD, which I picked up on Friday sounds excellent and I hope that the recording taken on Friday for a future release is just as good. Speak soon and thanks again. Regards to you and all the Band. Graham. Phil Jones: 16 September - Saw you this weekend at the Wyvern Theatre Swindon. Absolutely brilliant, note perfect. Genesis themselves couldn't play the songs any better (and I've been to a few Genesis concerts in my time!). I couldn't find a single fault with the show. More please!! Phil Philip Ward: 17 September - Hi there. Don't want to sounds too gushing but I went to your gig at the Wyvern theatre in Swindon and it was absolutely fantastic!!! It was the best gig I've been to and that includes Genesis back in the eighties!!! To play Suppers Ready in it's entirety was just amazing. Anyway that's enough flattery. Cheers and thanks for a great night! Keith Harry: 7 December - enjoyed your recent performance at Swindon lots. Don't change a thing! Please let me know future tour dates. Thanks. Bits'n'Bobs David J Parkinson: 24 January - Hello G2, just a note to say a big "thank you" for the fantastic gig the other night. The whole set was truly marvellous. What's Southend-on-sea like cos' I'm thinking of coming to see you there, but it is a long way from Wolverhampton. Please keep up the good work. Many thanks, David Rob Pearce: 26 January - Hi Terry, thanks to all of you for a real musical feast, last night. I never thought I would enjoy anything but the real thing until your performance. I'll see you again soon - got to get to work with my prog band now, be in touch. (The guy who chatted to you after the show) Rob Andrew Burt: 2 February - Dear all, just wanted to say a big thank you for a great show last night! I never dreamed I'd be hearing that stuff again and was stunned by your sound! Especially memorable were Chris's intro to Blood on the Rooftops, Neale's solos on Robbery..., the whole of Chris, Neale and Dave's intro to Supper's Ready, Terry's vocal on same and Jeff's solo into Los Endos. Actually, it was all fantastic. We're gonna come and see you again and wonder if you could start the show with Watcher and end with The Knife?!! Thanks again; we'll be wallowing in nostalgia for weeks - off to dust off the old vinyl. Andrew Genesis Webmaster: 17 February - Excellent evening. Tremendous performance all round. Go and see 'em. GW Bob Barnett: 18 February - Hi, just to second GW's comments! G2 put on an "Excellent" show last night! All performed flawlessly. If G2 are playing near you, don't pass them up, you wont be disappointed! Thanks to the Guys for an excellent evenings music! Cheers, Bob Mike Harragin: 18 February - Absolutely superb, I have to say - some of the W & W stuff I haven't played for years, & it sounded fantastic. You've definitely got another 6 converts, see you at Catford! Keep up the good work, all the best, Mike Tony Bratt: 19 February - Hello chaps, I wanted to drop you a line to say "Thanks" for one of the best nights out in a long time. Absolutely brilliant! I didn't know what to expect - to hear "Steve Hackett's" guitar playing was wonderful. Whatever you do, don't give up your performance - it really was fantastic. You are also undercharging! Looking forward to seeing you play again. Kind Regards, Tony Brian Doran: 20 May - David. Great gig, my friends were really impressed. Lots of great "new" material. Let me know when you are playing anywhere within striking distance of Windsor. Turn it on again! Brian Graham Muz: 21 June - So far I have see you at G2 convention (Guildford), Wycombe Swan and Crewe (the Genesis weekend) as well as last weekend and you seem to get better and better, although the atmosphere at G2 convention was amazing. Speak Soon, Graham Kevin: 22 June - Just a quick email to say just how much I enjoyed the show and just how good you guys all are. Watching a band for 2 hours with hayfever is hard, never mind emulating Phil Collins on the drums!!! It was particularly rewarding as the concert had not been publicised too well by the venue and there was a little more space than would have been the case otherwise. Certainly I will see G2 again and would encourage anyone I know to do the same. Thanks once again. By the way, great vocals Terry!! Regards, Kevin Bailey Ian: 24 June - Hi all, If there are any of you out there who really don't like Wot Gorilla, then I suggest (UK only unfortunately), that you go see G2enesis at the earliest opportunity. They open their current show with it. It's brilliant; surely enough to change your mind. Better than that, it's only a small part of a truly wonderful show. Ian MacPherson Eddie Long: 17 October - Hey, you guys are good! I have listened to a lot of "tribute" bands and I think you guys are so far the most accurate. I am in California and I have been a Genesis fan for nearly 30 years...I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your efforts. Thanks, Ed Chris: 22 December - Congratulations Guys on a superb tour in 2002. Your one of the best live bands I've seen and so very close to the original sounds of Genesis. My only regret is that I only got to see you twice this year (Southend and Clacton). Keep it going Guys. Cheers, Chris |
