Farnham Maltings - Farnham - Surrey
Gary: 19 April - What a fantastic night of music at The Maltings it was. I went along with a couple of pals who are massive Genesis and prog rock fans. I went along with quite an open mind and not really knowing what to expect, but I just got to tell you that the level of professionalism, musicianship and sound/lighting were pure class. Also it's commendable that your profits went to a hospice charity.

Judging by the contented faces of people leaving the building that night, everyone there witnessed a very special band indeed. Also the on-stage natural banter was really funny, which is always good to see. Wishing you all the very best, Gary Cattermole.

Sue & Mike: 20 April - Just wanted to say that Saturday night at Farnham was absolutely brilliant! I loved the newer stuff and hope that Entangled and Blood on the Rooftops stay as staples in the set – just sat there with a big grin on my face through both. Fabulous. The Trick and Wind stuff really shows how difficult the music is, and how well you all do to play it! All of you had to raise your game for it and you all did it fantastically well. Only slight downside – not sure quite how well RA&B sits with Mouse’s Night together in the set, but apart from that couldn’t fault it. Cinema Show absolutely superb and the best we’ve heard you do it. Can’t wait for you to come round our area again. Thanks once again from two very happy G2 fans. Sue & Mike Wright.

Jackie Hallowes: 21 April - Great to see you all again and still as good as ever! Nice to hear some new tunes... well you know, new old tunes! It was nice to see you too, I didn't want to go without a thank you! shame you didn't have much time (as usual!) working hard at packing stuff away... I told Terry that he had it easy, all he has to pack is a microphone and ...A FLOWER??? Ha ha! It must be a nightmare after each show, I bet there are times when you must get p***ed off with it all??? I hope you don't give up! Hope you are a bit rested now? Take care and keep the faith!!! Lotsa luv, Jax.

Derek, Frances, Emma & Laura: 01 May - Thank you once again for an absolutely fantastic evening at the Farnham Maltings, seen you twice before at Charterhouse, can it get any better? Trick of the Tail Album fantastic. The body language from everyone around showed that they were really enjoying themselves , I know we certainly did. long may you keep going. Wishing the band a very successful year. Best regards Derek Cloude

Gloucester Guildhall - Gloucester
Alan Waine: 18 April - Hi Guys, Just got back from the gig @Glos Guildhall tonight and what a great gig it was. I've seen G2 4 times now and i've never seen such an audience reaction - it was fantastic. Just to say how much I enjoyed the gig, the song selection (great to hear so much from W&W) was brilliant and you guys really seemed to have a great time. Keep up the great show and hoping to see you again this year in Stroud. A request....it would be great to hear "Down and Out", "Behind the Lines", "Duke's Travels", "Duke's End" and "Home By The Sea". I think all these tracks would really fit in with the earlier Genesis stuff! Cheers, Alan.

Mark Thomas: 19 April - just a brief note to thank you for a great set at Gloucester on Friday and for playing the requested numbers. You made an ‘old’ man and his family very happy and nostalgic. I have now arranged for some other friends to come to MK on Saturday, so I am trying to spread the word. Best wishes, Mark.

Tim Bryan: 19 April - Great gig on Friday at Gloucester! Tim.

Graham Smith: 20 April - Guys, thanks for a great gig, sorry I couldn’t stick around to thank you in person but had long journey back home and you did play a very long set – not a complaint I assure you. Fabulous to finally hear the Mouse, you’ve been promising it for so long and did it very well. I know the vocal timing is tough for Terry and they way the lyrics run it’s a bugger to sing as a punter so kudos to the singer. To be honest the set list was pretty awesome, MMM, YOSW, ToTT all really good to hear.

As always I was stage left so I could watch Chris and Jeff. Good to see drum kit lit properly so you can see Jeff at work and appreciate the skill. Also the set list choices showcased just how different a player Hackett was and I always enjoy watching Chris. All round it was an excellent performance, a couple of small fluffs, but well up to high standard I always expect from the band. The light show, especially at then end of Suppers Ready, was very good. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a bad G2 show and I’ve been to a fair few by now. One of these days, if I’m brave enough I’ll trot out the “play something we can dance to” heckle again. Hope to see you all at the Robin in June. Regards, Graham Smith.

Phil Edwards: 26 May - Just wanted to say thank you for the Gloucester Show a few weeks back now which, I thought was excellent. I brought a critical Genesis fan friend with me and he was very impressed which is praise indeed. Keep up the good work. Phil

Library Theatre - Luton - Bedfordshire
Heather Richards: 30 June - A lovely little venue, but what a pity it’s on the third floor! It must have made it very difficult for you all to set up and dismantle all your gear, so special thanks for all your efforts on this one. A lovely set and some great lighting, so it’s a pity I messed up the photos - I may be able to salvage them though. Thank you ALL for a great time – a lovely taster for the following night.

Paul Hedges: 28 July - I had the chance to see the G2 tribute band at the Library Theatre in my hometown of Luton (UK) on 26th June 2009. The venue is quite small but was surprisingly full on a warm day, the band started solidly musically if a little nervously in attitude but they slowly started to loosen up, smile and enjoy themselves. The standout track for me could have been Inside and Out which would have been fabulous if the lead guitarist had a guitar tech to help him swap his acoustic for his electric for the second half of the song, the band had to cover for far too long while he swapped guitars and the momentum had been lost despite a great team effort to finish, this also happened on another song to a lesser extent.

I didn't see the band give due credit to the drummer which he deserved and the keyboardist seemed a little nervous on the night and his sounds didn't quite gell with the band at times, he did have the customary complex sections to work through and you just knew that many in the audience were looking for each note to be perfectly played just the way they expected on record, something that Tony Banks himself would find a challenge. Other than that the band performed a great deal of quality music with more and more confidence as the night passed, I know I am hearing a good band when I am willing to drive themselves harder to sound like a great band, perhaps that is more difficult when you are playing someone elses music. Worth a look if they are in range. Paul.

Mick Jagger Centre - Dartford - Kent
Barry Stent: 08 November - Hi there, I just wanted to say a big thank you to G2 for a fantastic nights entertainment as the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford last night. This is the third occasion I've had the pleasure of seeing G2 in concert and the lads were certainly on top form. It was great to see some surprise choices in the set list as well as the usual favourites. Entangled was magical, as was Ripples. Everyone left the arena with big smiles on their faces knowing they had been royally entertained for just short of three hours. Great venue too by the way. I am certainly looking forward to seeing G2 again in the near future, Barry.

Mick & Wendy Nash: 08 November - A big thank you for such a great gig at the Mick Jagger Centre last night (Sat 7th November 09). As first-timers to your show we went along not knowing quite what to expect, but were blown away by the excellence of your playing. 'Entangled' was an absolute delight. We will definitely be seeing you again, Mick & Wendy

Kerstin Hinkley: 10 November - Exceptional... superb... fantastic... magical... wonderful show on Saturday! One of the best I have seen you do. Thank you guys. Terry still needs his black cape for Suppers Ready though. I'll have to wait until February for my next G2 fix at Sevenoaks. Can't wait! All the best, Kerstin.

Mr Kyps - Poole
Laurie Clow: 14 September - Hi, saw you guys for the second time at Mr Kyps last evening - well done for not blowing the fuses this time! You were fantastic. You seem to be better than last time. I wasn't expecting much and was blown away last year and this time you met all the expectations and I was able to surprise the two mates I'd brought who were sceptical you would 'sound authentic'. Thanks for a great evening and keep on keeping on, Laurie.

Iain Heard: 16 September - Hello Piers. I thought I would drop you an email after meeting you after the show on Sunday night at Mr Kyps, I was the fellow who couldn't remember how long it was since I saw you guys at The Standard in London. It turns out that it was in 2002, a full 7 years ago!!! I certainly wouldn't have guessed it was that long ago !!!

Anyway, I thought that I would again pass on my congratulations for the gig that you guys performed on Sunday, the standard of the performance was totally amazing and the amount of effort that I can imagine went into it certainly showed on stage. Being a little too young to have seen Genesis on their Seconds Out and Three Sides Live tours, your concerts are as close as I will ever come to seeing them perform the old classics back in the late 70's early 80's and you did all the songs a great justice!

Please pass my appreciation on to all involved in making the show happen and I certainly look forward to seeing you guys next time, probably as discussed in Dartford in November. We shall be there, front row!!! Keep up the hard work and it was a pleasure to talk to you after the show. Regards, Iain

Pacific Road Arts Centre - Birkenhead
Martin Maher: 15 March - Well that was one great show enjoyed by all, don't leave it to long before you play here again. I think the band is good enough to play on the summerpops. How can we get your band on the summerpops? I will email my local radio station merseyside and tell them about last night. Glad the band done a encore I told your sound engineer he was getting kidnaped if there was no encore his face was a picture, lol. Well hope to see G2 soon and if I can help promote the band I will only be to glad to help. Thanks, Martin

Phil Myatt: 15 March - Dear G2, I want to thank you for the excellent concert last night at Pacific Road, Birkenhead. A great sound and fabulous playing by all. I have been a devoted Genesis fan for a long time and never dreamt I'd get to hear Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering played live, from beginning to end. My regret was not bringing my children to the concert. I really hope that you return to Pacific Road in the not too distant future. THANKYOU ONCE AGAIN FOR KEEPING GENESIS MUSIC ALIVE. Best Wishes, Phil Myatt.

Paul Pope: 16 March - Just wanted to say that all of us thoroughly enjoyed the concert and I think by the sounds of things so did the rest of the audience. We nearly 'out-sang' Terry at times. You mentioned at one point that there was a number of younger people among the crowd which I feel is a testament to the quality of the music and the musicianship on the part of G2. I also had a chat with your manager Colin on Saturday and he seemed to think that you would be coming North again which is very welcome news. Look forward to the next time. Thanks & Very Best Regards, Paul

Ged Hayes: 16 March - Hi Dave, had a great night at Birkenhead on Saturday, I liked the idea of of showcasing the two albums back to back. More poignant for me as those two albums, A Trick Of The Tail and Wind And Wuthering, were the start of my love affair with Genesis. Thanks again for a great night and for the laugh by one particular Birkenheadian near me and his brief alternative lyric on Cinema Show, not to be repeated for sensitive ears. It's a family show! See you later, I might make it down to Wolverhampton. All the best, Ged

Peter Way-Rider: 17 March - Having witnessed the original Trick of the Tail & Wind & Wuthering concerts over 30 years ago it was wonderful to hear both albums played live by what must be one of the most underated acts around. In some ways I hope it stays that way but in other ways it is a regret that more people do not see just how good you really are. From the opening notes of Dance on a volcano to the closing chords of Afterglow this was some performance and it is a pity that there are so few outlets for you to showcase your talents. The audience responded to the quality and the band responded to the audience who in turn further responded and so it went on, ending with the entire congregation singing Afterglow (albeit after a few drinks not really in tune but who cares!!) Two of the friends who came with me thought you were better than the proper Genesis concert at Old Trafford so praise indeed. I can’t wait until June and Wolverhampton, Peter.

Rob Brown: 17 March - Hi guys. Have been a genesis fan since 78 seen them numerous times home and abroad and enjoyed every concert but just like to say Birkenhead was as good as any I have seen and I mean any, I was driving so was on the non alcoholic Becks but the performance was so good I didn't even miss the beer, thanks for the memories look forward to the next time. Regards Rob

Jill Walker: 18 March - Hi Guys. WOW!!! Not so much a "Trick with the Wind", more pure Magic. The Pacific Arts Centre last Saturday night hosted, to me, the dream gig. 5 Superb musicians, 2 of arguably the best ever albums of music, a light stunning light show, a suitably large hall filled with Genesis Fanatics, what more could you want! It was just a great night of music. You guys are amazing. To play not just Trick of the Tail but also Wind and Wuthering was a fantastic feat of musicianship, superbly accomplished. Then to give us an encore of Firth of Fifth and Cinema Show how much better can it get? Thank you all so much for making an old rock fan very happy. Keep on touring ... I miss you more, Jill.

Liverpool University Website Review: March 16 - There are so many tribute bands around these days that you can go and see almost anything from Pink Floyd to Amy Winehouse, Meat Loaf to Madness being performed. Only a few deserve to be written about in the almost hushed tones that are usually reserved for the actual bands themselves. From the Pink Floyd admirers you look to the Australian Pink Floyd Show and Britain's Think Floyd to Mark Taylor's version of Meat Loaf of those who do get the feel and the timing right. With Genesis, there seems to be a dearth of bands who can perform the band's seventies back catalogue with any justice and who can capture the humour and complex tune arrangements with such apparent ease.

One such group of men who have managed this and more is G2, the Definitive Genesis. Not only do they keep themselves understated and aside from the music that they are recreating, they play two of Genesis' best albums so well that it is possible to think that you are back in those heady days of seventies Britain, with the country experiencing the start of disco and the back lash that was punk, there was almost a call for the old progressive guard to slightly change tack and deliver albums that seemed relevant, sarcastically funny and simple to listen to.

Pink Floyd managed this with Animals and The Wall, Genesis did it with the fantastic Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering. Both albums recorded within a year of each other and notable in their own right. The former as the first to showcase Phil Collins as vocalist in his own right (Phil Collins had sang lead vocal on one song before this) and the later as the last studio album to have the ever excellent Steve Hackett playing guitar.

G2 came on stage to great applause from a fairly full crowd at the Pacific Road Club, ready to show these two albums back to back over two sets. What they achieved was nothing short of stunning. From the opening notes of "Dance on a volcano", you can see that these five men actually "get it".

The songs followed at steady pace and each one was greeted with admiration. Special mention must go to Terry Day on vocals as he managed to encapsulate all that was great with Phil Collins as the lead within Genesis. Like Genesis though, there is more than just the vocalist ability to shout about. As was the case of the reading of "Squonk" and the beautiful "Ripples", for which the guitar work was an absolute joy.

After a short break, the band came back out to play the entire Wind and Wuthering album of which it was great to hear the brilliant instrumental "Wot Gorrilla!", which has been missed off too many times by other tribute acts and the superb "Afterglow".

G2 finished an astonishing night of pure old fashioned progressive rock with the encores, which included to the great delight of the audience, "The Cinema Show" from the album Selling England by the Pound. Ian D. Hall

Heather Richards: 25 March - This show had been eagerly awaited for several months – the WHOLE of Trick of the Tail AND the WHOLE of Wind and Wuthering is one stunning show. I never dreamed I would be able to witness such a spectacle. Trick and Wind have always been my favourite Genesis albums and are listed purely alphabetically, as I have never been able to choose between them, so this was a night of PURE HEAVEN! I would like to thank EVERYONE involved in staging this masterpiece from the bottom of my heart. A magical night shared with so many like minded people – bliss! Hebsy

Steve Edwards: 30 March - Hi Guys, Sorry I have been so long in contacting you. I just want to say a big thank you for such a fantastic night at The Pacific Rd Theatre Birkenhead. I saw you last year with a crowd off friends and we stayed behind discussing what a great night it was and what excellent musicians you are. This year you surpassed yourselves. I am old enough to remember buying Trick of the Tail & Wind & Wuthering on vinyl and playing them until the grooves wore out!!! So to hear both albums live back to back was a treat. Then to have a double encore of Firth of Fifth and Cinema Show, well you just spoiled us. Thank you very much. Steve.

Simon: 31 March - This was my first viewing of G2, although I had previously seen Steve Hackett at the Pacific Road Venue :-) I was not disappointed! My first Gig was Genesis at the Empire in Liverpool in 1978 on the Wind Wuthering Tour and this night brought back some special memories, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for hours, it wasn't just the Becks! By the way, I'm one of the lucky Parents to bring along my son and I can assure you, even at 12, Alex is a massive fan and sang along with me from start to finish. Please, please don't wait so long again for another trip up North! Simon Atkinson

Sevenoaks Theatre (The Stag Theatre) - Kent
Steve Sullivan: 27 April - Just wanted to say how fantastic the concert at the Stag was last night. Excellent musicianship and a real treat to hear all those old favourites performed to perfection. I thought that I’d never see some of those songs performed live, but now I feel as though I have seen Genesis in their prime. The standing ovation at the end was richly deserved. I’ll be keeping an eye on the website to see when you are next in the area - but please make sure you return to the Stag soon. Best regards, Steve

Trevor Smith: 30 April - My son and I saw you last Sunday at Sevenoaks and it was a superb evening. We travelled from Ipswich (2 hour drive) and it was well worth it! We hope to see you again during the year and I have asked for your DVD for my birthday! You take care of all the important things too, Trev & Dan Smith

Alan Smith: 01 May - Hi David, just a note to say thoroughly enjoyed my 3rd helping of G2 at Sevenoaks on the 26th. I won't repeat previous effusive emails, but just to say I really love you guys! I dragged along another of my gig-going friends who was suitably impressed. Please think about doing more from NC or Trespass (suprised you don't do the Knife - that would be awesome!) Best regards, Alan.

Riga Music Bar - Westcliff on Sea
Rosie McMillan: 21 February - Hi Chris, was a fantastic gig last night - absolutely brilliant. Am naturally disappointed to not be going to Birkenhead. Will just have to work very hard to persuade you guys one day in the future to do a repeat performance - after all you can't let all those hours of rehearsals be for just a one off ;) Take care. Much love, Rosie (aka Monster Mouse!!!)

Ann & Joanne: 21 February - Went to club riga last nite, you guys just get better and better, had a fantastic nite, see you here again soon we hope, love, Ann and Joanne

Matt Taylor: 22 February - I have seen G2 at both the Cliff's Pavillion and the Palace Theatre in Southend and most recently at the Riga on Friday - which I enjoyed immensely. I thought the mixing was very impressive, especially in complex percussion-rich songs like Los Endos and Cinema Show. I was relieved to see that even in pro setups you still get musicians asking for a bit more monitor for certain instruments (Chris asking for more Keyboards etc)! BTW, although I singled out Paolo, I want to let you know how well I enjoyed everyone's skills with the gig. Every time I see G2, I come away wanting more. I don't think I'd even be satisfied at watching Genesis anymore! The 'intimacy' of the Riga made that gig special too. I mentioned to Paolo I'm hoping to see you all again at the Sevenoaks gig in April as that will be the nearest one to me. Best regards, Matthew Taylor

David McDonnell: 23 February - This one (for the vine) was one of the most anticipated for us, the magic of Charterhouse was exceptional, Charterhouse II was special but this was it - at our 'Home' (The Riga Bar) an intimate venue and the belief it was going to be TOTT and WAW in their entirety and chronologically, hearing tracks never heard before... John, to my surprise, had worked tirelessly since November 1 to sell the dream to anyone that would listen - so much so that at the start of 2009 we got to ten and so the decision to buy tickets in advance was made. I wasn't totally convinced this was necessary as I was equally unconvinced that Southend had fully awakened to the gift they were getting on 20 February; on the night I was proved wrong as the boys now easily fill this small venue and if we are not careful we could lose our space - the front next to the dummy monitors.

So as we took our place and waited we saw Chris' set list and realised that what we were expecting was not going to happen, at that moment a little surprised and a little disappointed, but these guys wouldn't let us down, would they? There were signs of some new efforts plus some very firm favourites - so hit the stage and impress us boys. After a little banter and an equally small smile Piers opened the proceedings in the grand style of Watcher, joined by the others one by one - any disappointment already forgotten. Dancing with the Moonlit Knight is near the top of the all time top tracks for me and the guitar refrain always gives a shiver, why can the Aisle of Plenty never be attached to the end, I wonder? The Mouse's Night was a new expedition, the vocals climb so high and Terry made it admirably, I hadn't noticed before how simple the guitar part was, may be this was Banks writing Hackett out?

The Lamb Stew, as some others call it, including the haunting Hairless Heart effortlessly ushers in audience participation time with Carpet Crawlers, whether Terry wants it or not - he covered his ears and did his best to concentrate and nearly made it to the end without breaking up - nearly. The next new comer to proceedings, giving Chris a seat, was the very personally sentimental Your Own Special Way - the sheet music we use showed a totally different key and chord progression - but in the moment who cares about that, as it beds in to the set I am sure this will become an audience favourite - watch out Terry. Firth of Fifth, what can I say always wanted and really shows the band working together almost like no other, the guitars talking, or maybe jousting the keyboards - the vocals almost incidental to this one. Plus the intro was nearly flawless, nearly Peirs.

Not following chronologically, but also in the set was the majestic Cinema Show giving us more of the same - this really has to be the peak of musicianship and justice was done tonight (tonight, tonight), well done lads. Another first for anyone was Trick Of The Tail, hats off to Dave as the bass part is so intensive from the start and really doesn't offer anywhere to rest and you executed really well. I am sorry to report I am not sure if One For The Vine is a new one here, my powers must be fading (lights), but the whistle would suggest otherwise? Another stretching vocal for Terry, the hardest part of what they are trying to achieve from these two albums is the backing vocals and shows how good they (the originals) were on so many levels - OK this was the first gig for a couple of months but this could be key or out of key - if this was not such a small venue we may not have seen, though no eyes can see, but we can't make Birkenhead - call us lightweights.

Supper's Ready is always welcome, amazing given it's age and complexity but somebody has to learn the flute. The spectre of the guide vocal was back to haunt us here, but was well and truly exorcised by the triumph of good over the evil (of a snowflake in June) by the time we had won the (waiting for) battle. For an encore there was the trick of (the tail) It's Yourself, as well as the Volcano but a welcome back into the golden era, and a chance for Jeff to show us what he can do, apart from model Beanie hats! He was actually hot tonight, I wonder if his duets in Charterhouse that have made him better and stronger.

The overall feeling of the night was enhanced by the chance to apologise to Dave (the bass) for Bekki's absence and our Diane's quizzing of Piers' practice technique- slowing down a metronome! (which John was all ears for as he works to complete his rendition of the Firth intro) and just generally be able to share our enthusiasm for the project - knocked by some (are wise and some otherwise). As you know I no longer stain these nights with scores, I did miss Chris' acoustic skill but the new additions are working and will go down well, harmonies will tighten up and you will wow audiences and we will be waiting (room) when you return. As I indicated above, I am not sure with the current dates when we will meet again, and besides as far as I can see they are all in the confines of safe theatres so we will be happy to wait for the real thing. "Listen to the old one speak of all he has lived through" Thank you G2. Dave Mac.

Heather Richards: 24 February - Hi Dave. A BIG thank you to you all for a great gig at the Riga. How could you describe it as ‘Rusty’? NO WAY! – you were amazing and we all had a fantastic time! The ‘new’ songs sound wonderful and no one would know that you’ve not played them at a gig before. Dave and Dave were sorely missed by those of us with cameras. The lighting looked okay to the naked eye but it was very difficult to get decent shots at that light level! Looking forward to The Swan, see you there. Take care, Hebsy

Louise DuCarey: 02 March - Hi guys, thank you for another great night at the Riga bar last friday. I had a really good time being as my friends came too as well as my brother and lady friend so was really happy having them there. The only other gig apart from the 6th of March that I will be able to get to is the one on the 26th April in Kent and hopefully my brother is going to come to that one as well as he did enjoy it; hopefully my friends too. Other than that, obviously if you play at Charterhouse again too, as I always go to that one too. Louise and hubby Ed

John Hayes: 23 March - Hi, would like to also add my thoughts on the Riga show if I may. Was a real pleasure meeting the guys before the gig a bit of a surprise for all. A excellent night of music and the new songs were certainly loved. The venue was interesting small and intimate sounded excellent as well. You guys are sounding better and better if that is possible just love your passion for the music you make the trip over very worthwhile. Till next time somewhere. John AKA LittleJohn

Robin 2 - Bilston - West Midlands
Heather Richards: 30 June - What a gig! Great to be back to a standing gig and lovely to see you all feed off the audience reaction. I hope we didn’t send you off key too often! I don’t think I’ve been to a gig that hot in many years, I hope the sauna like conditions on stage weren’t too uncomfortable. Thank you VERY much for a wonderful night, you were, as always, AMAZING!

Mike Brialey: 13 November - The Robin II gig was incredible, what an atmosphere. I was only about 2 feet from the stage. Naturally I manage to completely embarrass my wife each time I see G2 by 'air' playing the complete range of instuments along with the guys. Also the strength of the singing from the guys around me was awesome, it was like being in a really bad Welsh Male voice choir :) I could barely speak when I left (a blessing to my wife). The heat there that night was tough enough for us in the audience, so for the guys on stage it must have been hell under those lights. I'm lucky enough to have been to G2 gigs in Telford, Charterhouse, Sheffield, Lowestoft. But its the Robin with that close up intimate feel that provides the greatest buzz, although as an experience Charterhouse would be hard to beat. I can't wait to see G2 again, keep it up, Mike

The Boardwalk - Sheffield
Lesley Picken: 16 March - Hi Dave, I'm not going to say too much about the Sheffield/Birkenhead weekend as I'll find it difficult to express how awesome it actually was. My words just wouldn't be adequate or do it justice. However, I just feel the need to say in writing a very sincere thank-you to everyone for the hard work and dedication you all must have put in to make the gig sound and look so fantastic and treat us fans to what we love to see and hear so much. The band, the lighting, the sound, the management of the whole weekend was absolutely brilliant.

It is blatantly obvious that you are all passionate about what you do. I hope it is as equally obvious to you that we are as passionate about it too. To prove that, I will always vote with my feet! I hope you carry on with this project for a long, long time yet. I missed out on a lot of the Genesis gigs in the 70s and it's a godsend you are here enabling me to live the dream of hearing this unbeatable music performed live so accurately. Thank-you to everyone involved. Lesley.

Kevin Kilner: 21 March - I thoroughly enjoyed the gig - if I'd seen genesis themselves play as well as that in their heyday I'd have been well impressed; an excellent performance. I WILL get along to another gig for a chat at some stage - that's a promise. Regards, Kev

Heather Richards: 25 March - Thank you for a great gig in Sheffield. It was lovely to hear Mad Man Moon for the first time and you all looked very relieved when you’d nailed it! This served as a brilliant warm up for many of us, for the Trick and Wind extravaganza the next night. Thanks guys.

Alan Clarke: 30 March - Fifth time now, was at sheffield I know its corny but the play list was just me. You guys once again were top drawer. As for Own Special Way, I'm beginning to fill up. As a treat what about match of the day?

Jeremy Foulds: 31 March - Fantastic night in Sheffield; thank you very much. It was a special family night for me. Two brothers and a brother-in-law came up from Loughboro, Nottingham and Warwick for the gig. One of my brothers had never been to a rock/pop gig of any kind before! He is a classical music nut, and is especially into Delius. (Would love to know if Tony Banks was ever inspired by this English Composer?) However, in 1976 he was in Germany for a year as part of mod lang degree and was introduced to Genesis by a guy he was teaching. When he got back to UK, he bought my eldest brother 'Wind and Wuthering' as a birthday gift. As an 11 year old, I taped this new sound and that was that!

I was a bit sceptical about bringing my brother to hear G2, but he had a great night, as did all who were there, and relived lots of old memories. Having introduced me to Genesis in 1976, it was good to take him to his first ever gig as a thank you for the hours I have spent listening to Genesis. The following week, he was listening to Delius, 'Mass of Life' in Leeds Town Hall. Thanks again and please keep going, guys. Jeremy Foulds

The Harlequin - Redhill - Surrey
Kerstin Hinkley: 31 May - Loved everything you did at Redhill last night... loved the set (the best I have heard you do), loved your superb musicianship, loved the lighting, loved the new props, loved the mistakes!, and love G2 even more for performing in my home town. For months I have been on the case of friends, family, colleagues, casual acquaintances, regulars in the pub, strangers in the street! to go and see you. I am delighted that last night you added many new people to your very loyal fan base. Thanks for a great night. Please come back soon, Kerstin.

David Jones: 31 May - Hi there, just wanted to say thanks for a good night (despite the odd technical hitch). My first G2 show. You guys put on a great evening and will support you again if you come near Sussex! Lovely to hear Mad Man Moon played excellently, and the Wind and Wuthering section near the end just ROCKED. Was waiting for Los Endos but never mind... Shame the crowd (me included) were a bit flat at the start, but hey we perked up! All the best, David.

Graham Cotterill: 31 May - Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the Redhill gig last night. Seen you at Worthing and Charterhouse previously. Last night was very enjoyable even the hiccups were very funny and shows what LIVE music is all about, the crowd I thought didn't give you a lot of feed back but hey ho. Already looking forward to seeing you again in the new year probably at Haslemere. Once again thanks for a smashing night out, full of fantastic excellently played music, keep up the good work in keeping this music ALIVE. All the best, Graham from Pagham.

Simon Gillingham: 31 May - Hello to you all! I've now been coming to see you for the past 5 years or so, and I've come to a dozen or so shows, including a Chapterhouse event. But last night at Redhill was just the best I've seen and heard you yet. The set and running order was a vast improvement over that you chose for Sevenoaks (yes, I was there!) ~ that concert had too much emphasis on the post 75 albums. The sound was also far superior and the acoustics in The Harlequin worked very well. But it was your musical performance which really made the show an absolute belter. Tight, focussed playing with a very strong vocal performance indeed.

I'm old enough to have gone to the many of the original 70's Genesis concerts; which were replete with spine tingling moments. Last night there was definitely more than a tingle! I'm going to have to say it; I believe that, on a pure musicianship basis, you guys are even better than the originals. Stick with the theatre concert format and step up the marketing efforts ~ more people have got to realise just what they're missing. See you next time, Simon.

Nelson Porter: 31 May - Hi there, we saw you play at the Redhill Harlequin last night; what an excellent gig and really great, great guitar playing, equal to the maestro himself! (which has never been true of any other genesis tribute band I've seen - & I've seen a few!). Thanks for a brilliant night; nice guys, great band - and of course, fabulous music! All the best, Nelson.

Tim Knight: 01 June - Hi David. The concert was FANTASTIC! We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially me, as I am going to catch up with you again at another of your concerts with another friend. I have no idea how you all learnt such a lot of long and complex tracks. It was great hearing the Hammond in real life, and all the other instruments. The singing was superb. Also the balance between the different instruments/people, and volume were perfect, loud but not too loud.

We went to see Aussie Floyd a few weeks ago in Bournemouth, having seen them a year or so ago. At their last concert the volume was turned up too loud, not only was it almost deafening, it was so loud it was getting distorted. I was really glad that your concert hadn't fallen into that trap, allowing the best appreciation of the music. So, please keep up the good work, and pass on my appreciation to the other members of the band, I won't single out anyone in particular because everyone was unbelievably good! See you again soon. Kind regards, Tim Knight.

Michael Pardoe: 01 June - Absolutely fantastic on Saturday – I’ve seen you before (and The Musical Box, and Regensis - when Piers was still with them, and of course the originals, although not in the 1970s), but this was up there with the most enjoyable concert I have ever seen, and far and away the best tribute gig.

I am biased, living so close, but the venue was great (good views for everyone and excellent acoustics – loud but not distorted and really clear instrument separation: loved the Hammond in apocalypse and the Watcher ‘tron sounds – even enjoyed the memory lapse!). All five of you looked and sounded as if you were really enjoying it, and all the playing and vocals (including harmonies) were top notch, and the lights/smoke were pretty good for a small venue – nicely atmospheric. Was a bit disappointed not to see Los Endos, but the encore of Cinema Show was sublime. I had never heard Mad Man Moon live before, so that was a highlight too. I took my wife and 3 kids (13, 11 and 9) who have been primed via CDs in the car etc, and they loved it.

I’ve just been on the website and seen you are coming back to Redhill next April so have already made a diary note to book it (and for my wife and kids). Please continue to share your expert playing of this fantastic music with us!!

Ian Draper: 03 June - Just a quick note to say came to see the show on Saturday at Redhill - Thought it was really excellent and thourougly enjoyed it. Will be bringing some colleagues to some of the future shows you have lined up. Thanks, Ian.

Mark Edwards: 17 June - Thanks for a totally stunning show at Redhill guys. Being a bit of a keyboardist I was of course mesmerised by Piers as ever but you were all brilliant, an absolutely superlative performance.Kind Regards and thanks again, Mark.

The Stables - Milton Keynes
Jon Elspeth: 26 April - Guys, thanks for a fabulous gig at The Stables last night. We both really enjoyed it. It was great to see some of the forum crowd there and we also bumped into friends we hadn’t expected to see which was really nice. There can’t be many tribute bands who have fans travelling across the Atlantic so see them ;o) The set-list was fantastic with “Entangled” being a particular highlight. Keep up the good work chaps. Cheers Nov (Jonathan)

Martyn Buckle: 26 April - I attended last nights concert at the Stables Milton Keynes. It was excellent, by far the best concert I have attended to date at the Stables. The sound quality, atmosphere and every aspect of the performance was first rate. I will definitely be back next year on 1st May. It was so refreshing when Piers admitted making a small mistake. You are clearly a very together group of musician's, who brought back some great musical memories. Keep up the excellent work. Thank you, Martyn.

John Hayes: 04 May - Hi Guys, would just like to add my thoughts to your reviews of 2009. As you know I crossed the pond for the gigs at Milton Keynes and Sevenoaks at the end of April. Milton Keynes, What a venue loved it and Im so glad that you have booked yourselves back there for next year. The audio quality and lighting was outstanding. Everyone was glued to watching the stage and was not dissapointed. A great mixture of songs not sure if the play list works that well in the first half but nice to hear Carpet Crawl and Mouses night. The second half was insane, You completly nailed Suppers ready and the closing set of DoaV Its Yourself and Los Endos wonderfull. A bit sad that I did not have chance to meet up afterwards for a chat but a great night.

On to Sevenoaks. Nice venue again and again by the looks a full house. I was lucky to to nab a free front row seat for the second half with my crew of Heather, Jean and Ellie, great company. Piers you were a complete tooper and Firth was perfect and my god the smile on your face was a picture. I managed to get a couple of videos of the closing set and have posted them on Youtube. So Guys thanks again for not dissapointing a great couple of shows. Just wished there was a couple of different tunes but Im not complaining. Till next time. Little John ... aka John Hayes

Ken Murphy: 04 May - Hi guys, saw you at The Stables last weekend in Milton Keynes and you were fantastic, even better than last year. Have you ever considered doing anything from Duke, you would nail it and some classics on there. Thanks again for keeping the magic alive and look forward to seeing you at the Stables again, Ken

Steve Hall: 08 July - Hi Guys, I have been a huge Genesis fan for the past 38 years and have seen them live many times. Knowing I was a big fan, a friend mentioned to me recently that you were playing The Stables at Milton Keynes, I had never considered going to see a tribute band but tickets were available and I thought I would give it a go.

This turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions I have made in a very long time, I was absolutely blown away by your performance, the era you cover was by far my favourite and it was like stepping back in time and every bit as dynamic as I can remember of Genesis gigs in that era.

A few days on I thought "were they really that good"? I had noticed on your web site you were playing Luton at the end of June and as it is reasonable travelling distance for me thought I would check you out again. This time a slightly different set and yes "you really are that good" another faultless show! This time I bought the cd, which hasn't come out of the cars cd player since.

You guys really are the real deal and I am only sorry I didn't discover you sooner, I will certainly be attending any future gigs that are travel-able and will be spreading the G2 word. Long may you continue! Thanks, Steve.

The Subscription Rooms - Stroud
Mark Wastie: 14 November - You guys never cease to amaze me. Saw you at Stroud and was just blown away. Thanks for a fantastic night, loved it all, Mark.

Lesley Picken: 14 November - Hi everyone! Haven't emailed for a while so I think this is well overdue! Well, what can I say? Another great year for G2, I think! I couldn't possibly over exaggerate how much I enjoy seeing you guys play. The whole package is superb; sound, lighting, musicianship and even a bit of humour thrown in too! What more can we ask for?! I was so lucky to make it to Stroud last night thanks to the Hammonds. If it wasn't for them I certainly wouldn't have been there and I'd have missed another night of sheer brilliance.

It was great to hear Fountain of Salmacis. What a superb job you made of that! The thing that strikes me every time is the fact that whatever you play is played to such a high degree of accuracy, it's mindblowing. That's what I love about G2. You give the music the respect that it deserves and nothing less will do. Thank-you for putting in the time, effort and dedication to achieve this to keep people like me very happy indeed! It's great to see you have many gigs booked for 2010. I hope you go on many years after that too! Anyway, I know it's a bit early but have a great Christmas and I hope see you all again in the new year. Best wishes, Lesley.

Mike McCrea: 14 November - I have been a Genesis fan since 1974, I have seen the real band many, many times during the past 30 years. Tonight, I saw G2 in my home town of Stroud, and was profoundly touched by the impeccable performance of an era of Genesis which I grew up with. To date in 2009, I have seen Jean Michele jarre at the NIA, War of the worlds (Jeff Wayne), Golden Earring Shepherds Bush Empire but the concert tonight was the best gig of the year, and of the past 3 years.

You guys should be on the international stage, you should be selling out hammersmith Apollo. That gig last night in Stroud was awesome. G2 deserve to be stellar. I spoke with your manager after the show. You need a wider audience to appreciate your genius. Be re-assured that you emulate the great Genesis perfectly, and are superb. Last night was the best concert I’ve seen in years, and I’ve seen thousands. you were note perfect to Tony Banks. The solo during the cinema show was stunning.

I remain, awestruck at your concert last night in Stroud. I will be spreading the word of G2, Mike McCrea.

Chas: 15 November - Hi guys, just got back from the Stroud gig and you were as brilliant as ever much better sound than when I saw you earlier in the year at Gloucester. Looking forward to seeing you in 2010, Chas.

Robert Broad: 15 November - Great show again. Very much looking forward to next time. Onward and upward and continued success To G2. Regards, Robert.

Phil Powell: 16 November - Made it to the gig through gales and floods! What a performance; A superb night. You all showed such technical prowess and "power", especially towards the end with Cinema Show and Los Endos. This is the best I've heard you play. My 23 year old son came along and was mesmerised from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing you soon in Wales. Merry Xmas to everyone, Phil Powell.

Tim Rowland: 16 November - Hi G2, Like a lot of teenage lads, I was obsessed with Genesis from 1974 to 1981, but lost interest post-Duke. The half dozen or so albums form that era created, however, a life-long passion for music, in which Genesis has featured only nostalgically for the last 25 years. So I was highly sceptical of what might await me when a mate suggested we see you in Stroud on 13 November.

I've seen hundreds of gigs but I can honestly say that what I saw in Stroud last Friday totally blew me away and is up there in my top five all-time great gig experiences. Your renditions of music that is part of my DNA was (one slight glitch aside) astounding and I sat there enthralled by it all, feeling like a 16 year old, hearing the music that ignited my love of all music 30 years ago. Every nuance was perfect and your harmonies are actually an improvement. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have heard perfect versions of these songs played live in front of me - I never, ever thought I'd hear this amazing music live again.

Naturally, I'm cursing myself for having been such a musical snob and not exposing myself to you before. I won't make that mistake again. See you next year and thanks again for a musical awakening, Tim.

Richard Davis: 16 November - Gentlemen. Thank you for a superb show yet again. For this show I sat on the front row so enjoyed seeing up close the technical expertise that you all have. You must spend hours just getting the sounds right and your musicianship is fantastic. I appreciate your attention to detail...thank you. It's nice to see a Genesis tribute band with the same line up year in, year out, and that can only help with your faultless delivery. I look forward to seeing you next year and hope your following increases. All the best. Richard Davis.

Sally Puddick: 17 November - Hi Guys, What a fabulous show! You are always brilliant but I think this just might be your best yet. Mesmerising! Love the new Fountain of Salmacis. Really proud of you, Sally.

Derek Edmondson: 27 November - Hi G2, 2 weeks late on my review... but better late than never. I have been a fan since 78 & saw 'the' Genesis thrice. A few years ago I heard Mark & Lard lauding another Genesis tribute seen in Crewe. so I checked out tributes on the net. Your samples were VERY accurate so I waited for you to come near... & waited... then missed the Glos gig... Doh! I dragged a professional muso mate along (a fan from 75 who has seen many Genesis & Hacket & Gabriel gigs like me). We were blown away.

As you know the most difficult aspect of emulating Genesis (after sheer playing skill) is the instrumentation. Shergold double-neck, Moog Tarus bass pedals, & the very best-sampled mk2 & m400 Mellotron Brass & Strings that we could have wished for. The music without exception was incredibly accurate. Performance was sensitive to the original & live versions at the same time... again very difficult and only possible from massive (obsessive) fans who have trawled every bootleg available... yes we can tell! & Boy did we love it!

Highlights? difficult, but Salamacis was quite perfect... In That Quiet Earth was stool-loosening... & the vocal harmonies & rain stick in Cinema Show... again accuracy & attention to detail. Genuinely the only critical point we could pick on going home was that we thought the vocals could have used a bit more reverb, & no Tarrantella dance (joke)... that was it! If, as we hadn't, you have not seen G2 before, you have been missing the best 3 HOURS of memory lane Prog you could imagine... honestly! Can't wait for the next time .. & thank you so much again, Derek.

Heather Richards: 12 December - Battling through Friday traffic, in the wind and pouring rain, for four and a half hours was not an easy task, so it was great that the guys were a little late on stage and I didn’t miss a single note of this fabulous gig. A wonderful, near perfect, set list (it would need YOSW to be perfection for me) beautifully executed as always and a great treat to sneak up onto the balcony for Supper’s Ready to take photos from a different perspective. I consider myself very privileged to have attended every G2 gig in 2009, every show is different, but the common factor is the passion and live energy that G2 bring to the wonderful music of Genesis. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank ALL the individuals who make each and every G2 show a memorable experience. Thanks guys for brightening up my life. Hebsy

The Wharf - Tavistock - Devon
Joe Hamlyn: 13 September - Hi,just watched you down in tavistock, GREAT SHOW, came from torquay, will you be doing any shows in torbay again? Seen you before in paignton, FANTASTIC

Kevin Ford: 13 September - Hi, I expect you get lots of E-Mails like this but I just wanted to thank you for the concert in Tavistock, Devon, last night. It was the first time that I'd seen you live and I was very impressed. Apart from generally shorter hair all round and the absence of Air Force Issue great coats, I could have been back in the Bristol Colston Hall in 1975. Thanks also for playing some stuff from The Lamb Lies Down, not my favourite Genesis album, it has to be said, but it was good to hear it live again. I will certainly be there next time you visit... should you venture into darkest Devon again. The beer was good too, so what's not to like? Thanks again. Best wishes, Kevin.

David Strutt: 13 September - Dear G2. Geat gig at Tavistock again. The musics so good I forget I'm watching a tribute band and not the real thing. Great to hear Mad Man Moon, Inside and Out and Entangled. You might react to this with 'shock horror' but have you ever thought about trying the more proggy sounding stuff from Duke or ATTWT (Duke's Travels for example). Sorry if that offends you. Once again thanks for a great Gig. Hope to see you again!! Dave.

Wycombe Swan - High Wycombe
Nigel Murphy: 07 March - Hi, thanks for another amazing show last night at High Wycombe. A perfect set (including our absolute favourite: Cinema Show) superbly performed. Keep it coming. Cheers, Nigel & Marion Murphy. Doesn't Peers do well under pressure;-)

Steve Coates: 07 March - Haven't been in touch with you for a while but have continued coming to your shows at Wycombe and I just wanted to say thanks for last night - another terrific show. A question: during the encore I'm fairly sure you interpolated a piece between Volcano and Los Endos and I was surprised to find that I didn't recognise it. Please enlighten me - was I dreaming? Best wishes, Steve Coates

G2: The track we did, which is not featured on any of the main Genesis catalogue, was "It's Yourself". It is featured on "Genesis B-sides" and "Genesis Archives #2". If you are going to get one check out the track length of "It's Yourself" as there are two releases of this track with one of them having an extra discovered verse added (which is the one we do).

Paul Clare: 08 March - Excellent! Especially enjoyed the Dance on a Volcano/It's Yourself/Los Endos sequence and Trick of the Tail!

Richard Sainter: 09 March - Guys, thanks for a brilliant evening, you keep getting better and better and its great to see you enjoying yourselves as well. Best regards, Richard

John Clement: 09 March - Hi Dave. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the gig at High Wycombe last Friday. This was the 5th time I’d seen the band and as always you were excellent. Are you playing the Trick/Wind set at any of the other gigs this tour as well as Birkenhead? Keep up the good work, and hope to see you again in Milton Keynes next month – any chance of playing Mad Man Moon then, as I’ve never heard this live! All the best. Cheers, John

Heather Richards: 10 March - Last year’s gig at The Swan was amazing, so there was great anticipation for this one and, as always, G2 did not disappoint. Great sound (thanks Paolo) and back to the wonderful light show care of Dave and Dave – a must for all us photographers, thank you. Great to hear the three new songs – we’re in for a fabulous treat next weekend! Many many thanks for all your hard work guys. Hebsy

Stuart Lindsay: 10 March - Fantastic show on Friday. My mate came down from Newcastle to see it, having seen you in South Shields (with me) and he said it was well worth the trip. Any chance of a trip back up to Geordieland soon? Can I give a shout for Cinema Show, Blood on the Roof Tops and Entangled next time? Much prefer them to Los Endos which I’ve never liked, as well as you perform it. I’ll be at another show soon. Thanks. Stu

Chris Williams: 31 March - Hi all, I've been to watch you 3 times now, all at Wycombe Town Hall and the quality of your music is brilliant. Last month I came to see you with our keyboard player, drummer and myself and all agreed the standard of musicianship amongst you all is superb. I'll look forward to seeing you again next time you are in Wycombe (or any others reasonably local to me). Cheers, Chris Williams

Bits'n'Bobs
Susan Wright: 14 January - Will be going to Farnham to see you in April and can’t wait! Shows at The Brook and Charterhouse in 08 were fantastic and we have definitely joined your fan club. Good luck in 2009. Sue.

Paul Dixon: 08 March - Hi Guys, I've been looking forward to your return to Pacific Road for 14 months or so. Bugger - I've got to go away on business!! My wife Jayne and son Matthew will be there though. They are very excited and I'm very sad! I'm definitely going to get to Bilston at end of June. Hope Saturday is a storm, just as last time. Cheers Paul Dixon

Eamonn Flanagan: 17 March - I look forward to seeing G2 next month in Gloucester. They are such good value for money playing Genesis music from the most wonderful period of their creativity. I've seen them so many times now, and every time I am in awe in a way that only Genesis chords, solos and melodies can achieve when in the hands of such talented guys as G2.

The gig they did at Charterhouse in Sept 2007 was so special, with Mr Hackett sitting two rows in front of me... montionless as Horizons and that Firth solo echoes out around a school Hall that didn't feature in his childhood but did in the childhood of his fellow band members...

If anybody is in any doubt about G2 gigs and whether it is worth making the effort to track down a gig over the next few months, I fully fully recommend them to anybody who glows at the thought of that middle period of Genesis music. Whatever set list they do, you are VERY likely to be impressed!

Tony Bratt: 24 March - Hi Guys, saw you at Charterhouse in '08 and again in Wycombe last month. Shows just keep getting better. Must be 5 now. Here is a thought. What about doing "The Lamb" in its' entirety. Would be brilliant to see it all. Challenging but what a tour that would be. Keep up the fantastic work. Tony.

Duncan Gray: 13 April - Hi guys. Just to say "good luck" for your first night at Gloucester this week. I will be seeing you at The Stables next week - really looking forward to it after seeing you there last year and year before. Last year was probably the best gig of any band I have seen at the Stables and I have been going there for 15 years or so. Cheers, Duncan. P.S. if you play Entangled and Cinema Show I will be a happy man!

Paul Vickers: 02 May - Just stumbled on your website recently, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on a truly mind-blowing performance at the Customs House, South Shields last july. The attention to detail both musically and visually was simply phenomenal and I would like to thank you for making the long trip up to Geordiel and and giving us a night to remember. Do you have any plans for a return visit? Cheers and all the best!

Peter Way-Rider: 13 November - A big thank you to all within G2 both performers and background staff for 2009. I don’t think we realise just how much work goes into putting a show on and it must be very difficult to ensure it is completed within a specific budget especially if you do not have the backing of a record company behind you. All the best to G2 and background staff and their families for a peaceful and Happy Christmas, Peter
