Club Riga - Southend - Essex
Mark Tegers: 24 February - I saw you at Club Riga last night and had a great time. Look forward to seeing you again on 30th March.
Dublin Castle - Camden - London
Michael Stanley: 13 February - Hi Dave, thanks to you all for the brilliant gig at the Dublin Castle. A chap tapped me on the shoulder during the gig and said how good you all were. He said he'd seen Regenesis and thought they were good. I replied that I thought you were better. He tapped me on the shoulder again later and said, you're right!!
Elgiva - Chesham - Buckinghamshire
Fernley-Jones: 30 September - Dear all paperlaters, I spent last evening in a very modern well equipped theatre listening to an evening of Genesis material from a comfortable seat watching a stunning light show. I was warmed to see the contented attendees leave at the end of the evening having sung clapped and stamped their way through the performance, right to the inevitable climax Dance on A Volcano through Los Endos, only to call them back for more to a perfect rendition of a Seconds Out version of Afterglow complete with white landing lights through smoke, I must say Gentlemen what a brilliant finale.

Bearing in mind the technical failures to the sound system before the start of the performance, which obviously unsettled the band for a while. I can only put it down to lack of time, that there was no Blood On The Rooftops, or maybe because of the lyrical content, they decided to leave it out. A little unnecessarily I think. By the way I think the Reproduced Seconds Out T shirts on sale in the foyer are really effective, nice touch. George Fernley-Jones

Jon: 30 September - Dear G2, I came to see your show in Chesham last night and I wanted to let you all know I thought it was fantastic! I have seen Genesis live in many incarnations including with Gabriel and I thought you outshone them in last night's performance. Good luck with all your next gigs and I am trying to get a large party together to come to your next southern gigs i.e. Westcliffe or E17 (which is nowhere near us but your worth the journey). Or are you doing any more in the M25 area? All the best, Jonathan Bordell

Angus: 30 September - Hi David, I took Jon Bordell and my wife to see you at the Elgiva last night. We had a fantastic time! Like Jon, I have been lucky enough to see Genesis a few times over the years and grew up with "Trick of the Tail" and "Wind & Wuthering". I certainly second Jon's comments that you are every bit as good as the original line up and better! I will certainly be spreading the word and will no doubt be seeing you perform again. Wishing you the very best of luck for the future and thank you for keeping some fine music alive for a new audience to enjoy. Angus Creighton

G2 Convention - Guilford - Surrey
Vitor Ferreira: 2 April - G2'enesis opened the G2 Friday night gig list. Well... Seconds Out revisited, live, absolutely perfect and glorious!!! Another perfect PC clone and what a soul, my god, what a soul! They surprised and inflamed the venue with an astonishing performance. Go on guys, Vitor (Xanae)

James: 2 April - When G2'enesis opened the weekend on Friday evening I was almost in tears. great sound and their own sound engineer, ensured they delivered a blistering performance. James

Bob Parkhurst: 3 April - I've seen most of the acts before but who are G2'enesis were they just formed for the convention if so, wow what an opener they completely blew me away, guys whoever you are you've got to get together again and get up to the Midlands. Do it please for the spirit of 77! Bob

Golden Martlet - Hellingly - Sussex
Mick McGee: 19 March - Saw you guys at the Martlet on sat 17th, it was like stepping back in time, fantastic, when are you coming back to Hellingly? Thanks for all the old tracks, magic, Mick McGee!!!
Hare & Hounds - Coventry
Jan Edmonds: 6 October - I can certainly say that was a good evening last night! G2'enesis at the Hare & Hounds, Coventry. A pleasant venue, filled with enough of us G fans who knew and loved the era G2'enesis play. Also quite a few folks who seemed to be expecting the pop years. One young lady requested something and wanted to know why it wasn't played! Three were trying to dance to it. :-) That was a stunning light show but what about what I heard? They weren't very good. No. They were TERRIFIC!!! Starting from my fave album with Squonk and saving my favourite until last. Ending with DoaV and Los Endos. Great!

I wish I were a musician to say I knew better but lead guitar Chris, I'd say you have magic fingers and feet. There were tears tingling during your rendition of FoF and Afterglow. It was just so beautiful. And drummer Jeff. Sounded like a smashing bit of solo stuff to me! Not forgetting bass Dave and the backbone of Genesis music, keyboard Neale. And where would we be without someone like Terry to sing.... "A flower?" And a great job he made of it too! It's just magic to hear those sounds live among fellow fans so you can sing as loudly as you like and enjoy it. But I think anyone who misses this group is denying themselves quite an experience of Genesis revisited. Love Jan

Simon: 6 October - Just to echo Jan's praise of the gig last night. Not a bad turn out for the Hare and Hounds, could have been more real fans there though. Also slightly marred by the constant chit-chat from the back of the hall. Although the three "dancing" ladies were an excellent addition to the show ;-) Did you pay them lads?

Music was outstanding as always, many classics, including Blood On The Rooftops, a personal favourite. They've also clearly been working on the light show which really added to the atmosphere. Also nice to chat with the band afterwards, what a great bunch of lads. True Genesis fans, so friendly. (Sorry I didn't recognise you Dave!) Go and give your support to these guys if you get the chance, they really deserve it. Cheers Simon

Moses Gate - Bolton - Manchester
Michelle: 4 October - Yeah, the G2'enesis gig last night certainly was fantastic - from the impressive light show to the obvious delight of the band by the crowd's VERY appreciative response, (see - us Northerners are quite harmless really!!;-). When I walked in & saw the HUGE speakers, I thought "Cor blimey Guv! This is gonna be a bit loud!", but it wasn't - the sound was superb, as clear as a whistle (speaking of which - as a P.E. teacher - I can thoroughly recommend the "Fox 40", a pea-less whistle which NEVER sticks!!). There I was sat in-between Alan Hewitt & John Wilkinson (Face Value), both singing their heads off - Can you guess who was in tune? ;-) However, Alan wins the award for "Best Air-Keyboards" (& I've got the bruises to prove it!!) Highlights for me were Supper's Ready, & Blood On The Rooftops. Oh yeah and Entangled, Firth of Fifth & Cinema Show. Not forgetting Ripples, In That Quiet Earth....O.K. so you get the picture ;-) Michelle

Alan: 4 October - Hi everyone I finally caught up with G2'enesis at The Moses Gate in Bolton last night and if the crowd for Face Value on Sunday night were good, then the audience for these guys last night were ecstatic (me included). What a show! Enjoyable from start to finish with a good balance of great music and good natured banter between the audience and the band. Musically special kudos definitely to the two Dave's and Jeff although the entire band gave the show 110%. It is difficult to single out any one performance because so many of my personal favourites featured in the set but I suppose I have to give special mention to Blood On The Rooftops and Entangled which simply blew me away! Can't wait to see these guys again and I hope it will be before their appearance at next years' "Genesis Weekend". Catch 'em if you can, you won't be disappointed - I wasn't! Thanks again guys Alan Hewitt

Alan Hewitt: 17 October - Well, it took a long time for me to get round to see these guys but with much pestering from a certain singer in another tribute band (thanks, John) I finally made the trip to Bolton to see these guys for myself. Apparently this tour was being billed as their "Seconds Out" tour and so I settled myself in with a trusty pint and waited for the fun to begin.

Opening their set with Squonk was certainly a brave move and I was amazed at how well the performance was carried off with full and vocal participation from the enthusiastic crowd. This was going to be a very memorable night! They followed this with Cinema Show and the abbreviated Musical Box faithfully rendered from the Seconds Out tour both of which had me screaming for more. Musically: these performances were faultless and to follow that with Firth Of Fifth where both Neale Worley and Chris Cawte on keyboards and guitar respectively shared equal honours and received well deserved applause.

The excitement was quietened down a bit for a stunning performance of Carpet Crawlers before Terry Day led us through the story of Harry the criminal and the extended Vaudeville routine that is Robbery, Assault & Battery in which everyone performed their parts to perfection. A wonderful acoustic Horizons took us into the extended majesty of Supper's Ready, which certainly got the crowd going. For me though, the highlight of the entire show followed with blinding performances of two personal favourites: Entangled and Ripples both of which had me thinking I was listening to Genesis themselves and not a tribute band - can't say fairer than that now, can I?

The rest of the show was far from anticlimactic however. Everyone was soon singing along to I Know What I Like and listening with rapt attention to More Fool Me. I freely admit that I didn't actually see their performance of Blood On The Rooftops a song which has taken on even more special significance for me recently. The tears continued to flow as they stormed through the might instrumental overture that is Unquiet Slumbers For The Sleepers/In That Quiet Earth and the glorious finale that is Afterglow.

I didn't think there would be anyone with a voice left after this performance but everyone managed to find hidden reserves from somewhere for the encores of Dance On A Volcano and Los Endos which had everyone shouting for more and I was pleased to see that I was not the only one air drumming through the latter track! That was it, two hours plus had flashed by like ten minutes, always the sign of an enjoyable gig and the band took their well deserved bows. They had given 110% and that had been recognised by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Genesis audience. Have no doubts, G2'enesis will be back - and I CAN'T wait! Alan

Nottingham Football Club - Nottingham
Paul G: 12 December - Just like to say thanks to the band for playing a superb set to so few people in Nottingham last night. Being a long standing, dedicated and knowledgeable fan of Genesis and also a musician, I went to see the band(And Regenesis last month)and was stunned at how close to the original band they actually sound. All this, will they, won't they play again?? makes me laugh, when you have at least two tribute bands that are embarrassingly close to the original sound of the band. It was just such a shame that more people could not make it last night. Cheers Paul

Steve L: 12 December - I went to the gig with my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed it (save for the fact that half the audience seemed more intent on enjoying their own conversations than listening to the band). The highlight for me was Suppers Ready, never one of my favourite tracks, but G2'enesis made the 22 minutes fly past and totally reinvigorated the song. The faultless rendition of Afterglow was another high spot (would have liked to have heard the In The Cage medley even more, but Unquiet Slumbers...Afterglow was great). The only criticisms I have are that the keyboard volume was too low for a number of songs (the keyboard solo from Cinema Show was inaudible) and that something seemed to go slightly wrong during Ripples, but otherwise the performances were flawless. I`d definitely recommend G2'enesis to anybody. Steve

The Manor - Biggin Hill - Kent
Andrew Laker: 29 March - Many thanks, really enjoyed the gig at the Manor. Keep up the excellent work.

Mark: 22 September - I'll try and get to The Manor Biggin Hill tomorrow, saw you there last March if you remember and we all had a terrific evening. A work colleague of mine, Gus and his wife, went to see you at Southend recently and had a real good time they really got off on the party atmosphere. Looking forward to the lighting experience, I've heard all about it. See you soon Mark

Jim: 24 September - Saw you all at 'Biggin Hill' on Sunday. Great show, very atmospheric, must have been the extra smoke !. Thanks again, Jim Robinson

James: 24 September - saw G2'enesis at the manor in biggin hill last night after their summer break and i have to say major! the new light show is stunning-stunning-stunning and the band have really got the sound so spot-on now. i just have to go to the elgiva gig next week now. once again, go see this guys people, quite superb! james

Phillip Gammond: 8 October - I hope you are back safe and well in the smoke after your exhausting tour! I know you have heard this before, but the gig in Farnworth was awesome. The music was fantastic and the sound chaps did awfully well to keep the volume just right. I will write again soon but I thought I'd drop you a quick note to tell you how much Tim and I enjoyed it. Phil

The Robin1 - Merry Hill - West Midlands
Janet Edmonds: 23 November - I think I can say they were a bit better than the last time I saw them. Of course, they were *terrific* that time! Great venue, filled with fans. No attempts to dance at this gig. There wasn't the room. Or chit chat going on all the time. It was great to see fellow fans you know and spot some G2 T shirts on those you don't.

But the music? Great set list. Starting with Watcher, Firth of Fifth, Supper's Ready of course. For myself I can say I love you. Cristina, you would too, because they played all but title and Mad Man Moon from Trick. And the audience was joining in as well as at the convention for Ripples. Saving the best 'til last. Encore of Dance on a Volcano and Los Endos. A lot more songs that I can't think of to list, but a great two and a half hours of music. I'm not a musician but I heard nothing but positive adjectives from those around me.

What happened to remind us of G2'enesis at the Robin 1 on 22nd November? In the middle of a song, the power failed! LOL Great stuff! Like when Mike slipped or Phil dropped the mike... I'll be seeing you again. Anyone further north, see them at Nottingham. You'll be glad you did. Jan

Phil Judge: 23 November - Saw an incredible tribute band called "G2'enesis" last night at the Robin Hood, Merry Hill. They do early Genesis stuff from Foxtrot to Wind and Wuthering and were brilliant and on stage for two and a half hours and their set included "Ripples", "Entangled" and the whole of "Supper's Ready". Anyone who likes Genesis should definitely get to see this band if they are in your area. Phil

Graham.D.Smith: 23 November - Last night G2'enesis rocked the Robin 1 near Dudley. I've seen a bucket load of Genesis 'tribute' gigs in recent years and for me last nights performance was one of the finest I've seen. G2'enesis played with power, precision and a fair degree of panache. It also helped that the set list was immensely to my liking. The band looked relaxed and were clearly enjoying the gig which I feel adds to the audience's appreciation of the event - nothing worse than a glum looking band on stage.

Playing Seconds Out era versions of great tunes both from that great double live album and many album tracks as well, they played to a large appreciative crowd. In fact they drew a Friday/Saturday night sized crowd on a Thursday, which is some feat. All in all the performance was very polished, with a good sound and hefty well handled lighting rig that added extra atmosphere to the show.

A great set list included: Watcher of the Skies, Carpet Crawl, Firth of Fifth, Cinema Show, Entangled, Ripples, Robbery Assault and Battery, Supper's Ready, More Fool Me (which was a real treat), Musical Box (reprise), Blood on the Rooftops/Unquiet Slumbers/In that Quiet Earth/Afterglow, I know what I Like, Dance on a Volcano/Los Endos. Check out they're gig list on their website and get along to a gig near you. Graham Smith

Anon: 24 November - Thanks for a wonderful gig at the Robin on Thursday. It was a great show and took me back 25 years or more (unfortunately!!). I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Robert White: 24 November - Saw the show at the Robin (Dudley) last Thursday - and was totally knocked sideways. I need more. Please send me G2NEWSLetters - but especially more gig dates in the Midlands. I see from your website that you have plans to expand your repertoire - More Fool Me was a nice surprise on Thursday but how about performing Can Utility & the Coastliners (from Foxtrot). I'm sure that die hard Genesis fans would like the more esoteric stuff. Rob White

P.F.Harrison: 26 November - Hi Guys, just wanted to say that I caught you for the first time on Thursday night at the Robin in Dudley and was blown away. Great show! Keep up the good work for us early Genesis fans. Cheers, Paul Harrison

Trent University - Nottingham
Jeff: 3 October - Nottingham welcomes it's first ever tribute band TOMORROW NIGHT, Thursday - the awesome G2'enesis are playing the Trent University Students Union on Shakespeare St. Nottingham. I'll be there, if you want directions or anything, just holler, Jeff Tegart
Worcester Park - Malden - Surrey
James: 27 June - saw G2'enesis at the worcester park in surrey last sunday and enjoyed every bloody minute, especially as they were having a few technical problems. it just made the whole thing live and real for me. the new numbers still have a ragged feel which i like so i'm glad i caught them early, before they polish them up to the level of the others. don't get me wrong guys, the well played, tight and vividly accurate set wins every time so keep on playing please. James
Bits'n'Bobs
Paul Gillooly: 27 February - Just a short note to let you know how much I enjoyed your gig on Saturday night. Every song was a joy to hear but Blood on the Rooftops blew me away.

I was extremely impressed by the high standard of everyone's playing and Terry's vocals were excellent as well! Paul

Russell Crossley: 2 April - Saw you Fri night - very impressed-well done and keep up the good work! Any plans to do some shows further north (Manchester area?). Russell

John Edwards: 2 April - Hi - enjoyed your show on Friday night. Great reproduction - I even thought I was listening to 'Seconds Out' before I realised today that's where you started from. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you in Fulham. John Edwards

Dave McGeachie: 2 April - Sound dodgy at start but soon was sorted, crowd loved it and I agree. You can tell the band are fans especially Dave the bass guv'nor and you can't help but have that enthusiasm get into the crowd. Los Endos was a triumphant end. Excellent. No-one had anything but praise. Dave Mac

Fernley-Jones: 4 June - I spent last evening listening to selected Genesis material from selling England through to and including Wind and Wuthering, played with such accuracy and attention to detail that I found myself staring in amazement. Watching these guys playing all these different time signatures and still smiling and joking with each other and the audience kept the fortunate few that attended focused. GFL

Mark: 25 September - As ever, I'm more impressed each time. It has to be said the performance is becoming more and more polished, if that were possible. I noticed your Engineers were in control of the sound again and it really made a difference to the individual clarity of each instrument. Great light show also, some really spectacular effects. I thought Neil was outstanding on keyboards as was Chris on Guitar, Geoff on drums really is something to experience, Los Endos "brill" you were O.K (Cinema Show?) And Terry (Bob) is now doing the first half as Gabriel, is this intentional? Has he tired of being a PC clone? All in all the performance was great.

Baz: 25 September - Saw them the week before at Club Riga in Southend and the time out had done them no harm. The light show is very good but so are they. A light show alone does not make a quality band and they just keep getting better each time I see them. The Elgiva is on my list as I live out past Wembley and I understand they won't be visiting there to raise the car park! Baz

Jeff Tegart: 23 November - Agreed - these guys always put on a hell of a show, they're awesome. Re: Jan's post... "In the middle of a song, the power failed!" Oddly enough, the same thing happened last time they were in Nottingham, back in September. With their impressive new lighting rig and the first few bars of The Cinema Show mesmerising the massed hoards, all power was abruptly lost and the auditorium was thrust into a hushed darkness.

G2'enesis made the very best of a difficult situation. As Dave (bass) and others tried to restore power, Terry (voice) and Chris (guitar) quickly struck up an impromptu version of More Fool Me, the murky darkness pierced only by the narrow beam of light from one of those tiny 'magilite' torches held by, appropriately enough, the lighting engineer. It just about lit up Terry's face as he sang a simply stunning version of this song, which until then hadn't been a particular favourite of mine. When the song was over, the crowd stood motionless in a post-coital-like afterglow. Almost immediately the power was restored, the magilite was popped back into its toolbox and the band returned to The Cinema Show in all its fully-lit glory.

The rest of the performance was as superb as ever. G2'enesis Simply Kick Ass. Re: Jan's post... "Anyone further north, see them at Nottingham." I'll second, third and fourth that. Cancel whatever you have planned for December 6th and come to Nottingham to see this truly impressive band. They're at the Meadow Club, which I think is also known as the Notts County Arena (its a bit like the Wembley Arena, only smaller and not in Wembley. Jeff :-)) disclaimer: I have no affiliation (whatever that means) with G2'enesis or their torch.

Simon Funnell: 7 December - Excellent show last night by the G2'enesis guys. Started off, a little shaky perhaps, with Watcher Of The Skies, but then continued with a perfectly executed Squonk. With a couple of nice surprises in the set including For Absent Friends and More Fool Me, together with old favourites such as Supper's Ready and Firth Of Fifth (twice!) I think Jeff Tegart (and Doug of course) also had a great time, I've never seen so much air guitar in such a short space of time! Maybe Jeff can comment when his hang-over has subsided a little ;-) Excellent work and much kudos to Terry, David and the rest of the band who made the more than 2 1/2 hour set fly past! Looking forward to seeing you again in February. Cheers Simon
