It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Terry passed away on Friday.
Those of you on our mailing list know that he had been living with cancer for some time. Unfortunately, despite various treatments, his condition deteriorated rapidly in the time since our show in Redhill, three weeks ago.
His phenomenal performances at recent shows are testament to his enormous commitment to the band and determination not to let you, the audience, down. All of us in G2 would like to express our gratitude for the overwhelmingly positive response from audiences at our recent shows, and in particular from those of you who came to The Stables. Terry was always his own harshest critic, but we all knew (because you kept telling us) that he was singing better than ever.
We have one more show left before the summer break. It will be at The Half Moon in Putney next Friday. Terry, in typical style, insisted that the show must go on. We are pleased to announce that Dave Whitehouse, of No Jacket Required and, previously, Invisible Touch will be with us on stage. Dave has been working with us and Terry for a while to be ready to step in as a dep if needed. He comes with the Terry stamp of approval and his talent and humanity will help us perform at a show that will be more than a little tinged with sadness. It will be a celebration of the music that Terry loved.
It has been an honour and a privilege to have served with our Tel for so many years. He had huge talent and fabulous humour. We loved him like a brother and shall miss him deeply.

Terry's funeral will be at 3.15pm on Thursday 12th July at Hither Green Crematorium. No flowers please, but donations would be welcome to St Bartholomew's Hospital -

The funeral will be followed by a wake which will be private for family and close friends.
